Summing up

29 10 2008

As an overview on my website as a whole, i think it turned out to reflect my identity, both my personality and my life experiences, rather effectively.  To help convey this I used the pastel pale style of the 80’s (the decade i was born), along with scrappy textures and actual images and drawings from my household to get that real home-style feel to the website (actually there were no images downloaded from the internet at all, each and every image was either scanned or photographed by me).  In doing this, there was a lot of reflection through the process of building my site, and i think this definitely affected the end result, as more of me came out the further i got into it, and this gave the site a real sense of honesty and personality i feel.  If i was to question whether or not i think my original idea of a website in which you can get to know me the deeper you look into it is what i produced, i think i’d say yes, but its hard to say seeing i’m the person your getting to know, so check it out and see what you think…

My family Page

27 10 2008

Here it is my final page.  Pretty simple concept but necessary.

Travel Page again

27 10 2008

here’s the new slightly improved travel page.  From the image you can see how the page will work.  As the user here has rolled over “vietnam” a picture of me in vietnam has popped up

My Leisure Time page

26 10 2008

This page represents what i do with my spare time, which i seem to have too much of.  It’s basically photos of my life for the last 5 years, and within it are a whole lot of stupid stories and shannanigans me and my mates have gotten up to, a lot of great memories, i had a lot of fun doing this page…

80’s style

26 10 2008

I was watching a documentary this morning on surfing in the 70’s/80’s era about the cruisy surfer life style exploring rare breaks and admired how relaxed it was.  Anyway, i decided i really like the 80’s style, including the ugly pastel colours, the funky patterns, the typography, the whole shebang. I think i’d like to implement this into my web site or even base the whole site around it.  This style along with the scrap book style i’ve been going for will hopefully work quite well together.  Here’s some examples…

travel page

24 10 2008

i think this will be my travel page, it’s a bit more authentic then my last attempt.  It seems a bit simple at the moment but as users interact with the map polaroid photo’s of me will pop up (i.e. as the user roles over the name of the country i wrote on the map a pop up polaroid will appear with a picture of me in that particular country).  I haven’t trialled this yet so no promises but hopefully i’ll be able to implement this effect.

My Music Pages

24 10 2008

These ary my music pages.  I’ve been working on them for a few days now and have been unhappy with my results, however i think they’re looking alright now, they still might need a few touchups.  Anyway here they are see what you think…

Use of quotes

23 10 2008

i’ve decided to incorporate my own handwritten quotes throughout my website on scrumpled up bits of paper.  This will hopefully give my work an enhanced feeling of honesty, bringing a bit more personality to the piece whilst also keeping that homely scrapbook style.  The scrumpled up paper looks quite effective and gives a nice texture.  Here’s an example of my sporting page now with this addition…
